The countdown is on.
There is a lot going on in St. George this weekend. We are very greatful to live in such an active community. Just about every weekend you can find something that can cater to your active lifestyle.
Saturday is the Zion Canyon 10k fun run. For those of you that are unfamiliar with running a 10k is 6.2 miles. We are really looking forward to this run because there are alot of us that are participating. Myself, Brittney, her brother Ryan and sister-in-law Laura, My dad Kirk, sister Heather, and Aunt Roxie are all running this once in a lifetime event. The reason that this is a once in a lifetime event is because they are doing this as part of their Centenial Celebration.
It is also the Dixie Escalante Kite festival that the school kids are a part of. During the School year the kids are asked to read a certain amount of pages or minutes and as they do they earn a free kite that they get to fly at the kite festival.
Last but not least is the S.H.A.C. Triathlon. We have done this triathlon in the past with the two older kids doing it last year for the first time. We figured that we would pass it up this year as we have been getting more into running that anything else.

Good Friday!
Due to a snow day earlier in the school year the kids are required to make it up today. The good thing is that it is also the Hershey Track Meet for the elementary kids and Ashley qualified in the 200m and the 50m. When i talked with Brittney she told me that Ashley had done really well and taken 2nd place in both of her races.
I hope that the kids will follow our example and keep up an active lifestyle and enjoy running. Far to many kids these days are finding themselves sitting in front of the T.V. and eating way to much thus causing many of them to start having early health problems that no kid should have to deal with.
Anyway thanks for letting me vent for a minute. We hope that everyone is going to have a nice and enjoyable Easter and remember the real reason that we celebrate this wonderful season.

April already.
Boy how time flies. It is now April and we are looking forward to the many activities that are happening this month. We are very glad to be able to celebrate Easter as a family. We will be having the annual poulsen family easter pic-nic minus most of the Poulsens as they live in Salt Lake and not St. George.
On the 18th many family members will be here to run in the Zion Canyon Centenial 10k. We are hoping to go camping that weekend but I think we will have a hard time finding a place close to the park.
We will be on a close lookout for the easter bunny as well. The kids are already asking where the easter baskets are which means i need to go looking for them.

Wow it's been a long time.
Sorry to everyone that tries to stay updated about the family on this site. I have not had much time to write anything for awhile. Just a quick update about us, We are currently trying to get a loan to purchase a Water Tender to fight Wildfires durring the summer with the Fire Service.
If all goes well I will spend almost all summer long traveling the U.S.A fighting some of the fires that i am sure we will have. Through my many travels I will take pictures and post them on this site so that you may all see what a great power fire has. Brittney continues to run and is always training for some kind of major endurance race. The kids are all fine and enjoying school and doing quite well. Thank for your concern and prayers on our behalf.
